Patient Summaries (Beta) automatically creates brief, human‑readable summaries of each CarePilot note, and maintains a rolling Patient Summary that synthesizes recent visits for quick context. It is designed to reduce scrolling and help you orient faster.
LEGAL NOTICE (BETA SOFTWARE): Patient Summaries (Beta) are provided “AS IS” for evaluation purposes only. They are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and are not a substitute for clinical judgment or the original medical record. CarePilot makes no warranties (express or implied) as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Do not rely on Patient Summaries for clinical decisions, coding, billing, legal disclosures, or compliance activities. Use of this feature is subject to CarePilot’s Terms of Service and applicable laws.
How Patient Summaries Work
Every CarePilot note automatically generates a note-level summary that is attached to the patient’s record. These note-level summaries are then combined to create an overall Patient Summary, which reflects the most recent information from that patient’s CarePilot notes.
The Patient Summary is attached to the patient object and follows the organization’s retention period (typically six months). Any new visit within that window resets the clock. If no visits occur within the retention period, the Patient Summary and the associated patient object are automatically deleted. A new summary will be created when a new visit occurs.
Patient Summaries only include information that exists within CarePilot — meaning they are generated solely from the notes and data created inside CarePilot, and do not reference or import any content from outside systems.

Limitations & Safety Guidance (Please read)
Do not rely on summaries for diagnosis, treatment, triage, coding, billing, utilization review, legal disclosures, prior authorization, or quality reporting.
Summaries may be wrong or incomplete. They can omit negations (e.g., “no chest pain”), misinterpret temporal phrases, or misattribute plans to the wrong problem.
Always open and read the original note before acting. The original note is your source of truth.
Use clinical judgment. This tool does not replace training, experience, or supervision.
Not a medical device. Patient Summaries (Beta) are provided for convenience and workflow aid only.
No patient‑facing use. Do not share the Patient Summary with patients as clinical advice or after‑visit documentation.
