Installing & Using the CarePilot Chrome Extension for Telehealth Visits

Quick Guide on chrome extension setup that lets you record both ends of a Telehealth encounter.

1. Install the Extension

  • Click the installation link sent by your CarePilot representative.

  • On the Chrome Web Store page, select Add to ChromeAdd Extension.

  • After installation, the CarePilot logo appears in Chrome’s Extensions menu (puzzle‑piece icon).


2. Pin the Extension for Quick Access

  • Click the puzzle‑piece icon in the top‑right corner.

  • Press the pin icon next to CarePilot to keep it visible on the toolbar.


3. Prepare Your Telehealth Tab

  1. Log Into CarePilot Open your telehealth session (e.g., Doximity, Athena Telehealth, etc.) in its the same tab CarePilot is open on.


5. Start Recording with Tab‑Audio Capture

  • Toggle Capture tab audio so both patient and provider voices are recorded.

  • If you see Missing tab capture permissions, click the CarePilot icon next to the puzzle piece once to grant access, then click Got it.

  • Click Start recording with tab audio.

Note: During the visit, you may not see the "audio visualizer" (the blue bar) move while the patient speaks. The system is still capturing audio—transcription happens in the background.


6. Complete the Visit & Review the Note

  • When the encounter ends, click Stop Recording.

  • CarePilot instantly generates a structured note in the sidebar.


Pro Tips & Troubleshooting

Resolution

The Audio Visualizer isn't moving when the patient is talking.

This is normal; transcription finalizes after recording stops.

I'm getting a popup that is saying "No Audio Detected"

This means there is no audio coming from the patient's side of the telehalth visit yet. Make sure their talking and followed the steps above.
