What is OrderAssist?

OrderAssist is CarePilot's AI-powered ordering module that listens to your visit and automatically drafts the right orders — medications, prescriptions, referrals, and more — at the point of care. It pulls context directly from your chart, links orders to the relevant diagnoses, and pre-fills each detail so you can review and sign in seconds rather than minutes.

How It Works in Your Workflow

OrderAssist works alongside your visit in three straightforward steps. Once you start a patient encounter, it begins working in the background — you don't need to do anything extra to activate it.

Step 1: Draft Orders Automatically

When you open a patient chart, CarePilot pulls the active problem list and current medications. It then proposes medication orders using your practice formulary and the context from the visit. You'll see suggested orders ready to review — linked to the relevant diagnoses and pre-populated with the appropriate details.

Step 2: Fill in Supplemental Details

For each proposed order, you can review the SIG (dosage instructions), quantity, refills, and supplemental notes — all pre-drafted for you. You can add plain-language guidance in one field, and it automatically flows to the prescription details and patient note. This makes the review process fast without sacrificing accuracy.

Step 3: Sync Directly to Your EHR

Once you accept an order, CarePilot writes it back to your EHR as structured data. The medication, dosage, SIG, and patient instructions all land in the right fields automatically — no copy-pasting, no manual re-entry. Your orders are complete and ready to sign from within your normal workflow.
